Airwafi is a mobile application designed to transform the entire airport experience for travelers, from the moment they leave for the airport to the time they board their flight. Instead of juggling multiple apps for tickets, directions, flight status, and airport services, Airwafi brings everything into a single, intelligent travel companion.
Built to solve a problem every traveler faces, airports are stressful and information is scattered, Airwafi centralizes ticket management, live flight tracking, airport maps, free WiFi access, and exclusive shop discounts into one seamless experience.
The Issue At Hand
Travelers relied on separate apps for tickets, flight status, maps, and airport services, with no single source of truth, and no reliable way to judge when to leave or whether a flight had changed.
Research pointed toward one all-in-one, flight-status-driven companion that could auto-import tickets, push real-time alerts, and surface maps, WiFi, and shop offers per airport.

Manual ticket handling, travelers had to track gate, seat, terminal, and timing details themselves
No proactive alert system for boarding, departure timing, or sudden delays
No easy way to judge distance to the airport or the right time to leave
Unfamiliar terminals and gates made in-airport navigation difficult

We found that traveler stress peaks before boarding, reaching the airport on time, finding gates, and fearing missed announcements. This shaped the app's core value: smart, real-time notifications driven by live flight status rather than static ticket times.
Key Activities
Traveler Pain-Point Mapping
Identified the moments of highest stress, missed boarding calls, uncertain departure timing, and unfamiliar terminals, as the priority problems to solve first.
Fragmented App Landscape Audit
Reviewed the existing tools travelers juggled for tickets, maps, flight status, and WiFi, confirming a clear need for one consolidated companion.
Notification Strategy Research
Determined that reminders needed to be driven by live flight status rather than printed ticket times, since delays are common and static timing was misleading travelers.
Technical Dependency Mapping
Identified key dependencies early: third-party flight-tracking APIs, standardized boarding-pass barcode parsing for auto-scan, per-airport maps, and an updatable data layer for WiFi credentials and shop offers.
Business Opportunity Discovery
Saw an opportunity to connect airport shops with waiting travelers through exclusive, curated discounts surfaced directly in-app.
