SuperDraw is a modern web-based prize competition platform that enables users to enter online competitions for a chance to win high-value prizes such as cash rewards, electronics, vehicles, luxury items, gift cards, and exclusive experiences. The platform provides a secure, transparent, and user-friendly environment where participants can purchase competition entries or use the free postal entry option, with every valid entry having an equal chance of winning.
The winner is selected automatically using a certified cryptographically secure random number generator (RNG), ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the competition process. A comprehensive admin panel gives the operator full control over competitions, users, finances, bonuses, and platform activity, turning what began as a static prototype into a fully operational, production-ready prize platform.
The Issue At Hand
The initial application was generated using vibe coding, with most features running on static, dummy data and no real database behind them. Every competition, user, and prize on screen looked complete, but none of it was connected to anything real.
Delivering a fair, verifiable RNG required first rebuilding the entire platform, database, payments, and admin tooling, into a production-ready system. The original ask for a random number generator quickly became a full-platform rebuild once it was clear there was nothing underneath the prototype to generate a number against.
Real database and architecture had to replace dummy data with proper models, relationships, and migrations across competitions, users, prizes, and transactions before any other feature could be trusted.
Payment processing needed full integration with Pay.com to replace placeholder payment flows that had never actually moved money.
Transactional email required implementing Customer.io from scratch, covering verification, purchase confirmation, winner notification, and password reset messages.
Multi-currency and localization support was needed for local currency pricing and region-based detection so international users saw accurate pricing without manual conversion.
Competition lifecycle management had to cover draft, published, active, sold-out, expired, and completed states, each with different rules for what users and admins could see and do.
The admin dashboard needed a full rebuild of user, competition, finance, and bonus management with real CRUD operations behind every screen instead of static mockups.
A certified, cryptographically secure random number generator could only be implemented once the underlying platform was fully functional against live competition and ticket data.
Security and validation had to be added throughout, including request validation, authentication middleware, and secure data handling across every new endpoint.

A technical review revealed the existing build was a UI prototype only, with no backend infrastructure to support a fair, verifiable draw, reframing the original RNG request into a full platform rebuild.
Key Activities
Dummy Data Audit
Found that competitions, users, prizes, and transactions were all hardcoded, with no real database connection behind any screen. Every number on the prototype, ticket counts, prize values, user stats, was static and would never change no matter what a user did.
RNG Feasibility Check
Determined a fair RNG could not be implemented until the competition, ticketing, and user workflows were functional against live data. Running a certified random draw against fake entries would have been meaningless, so the RNG work was deliberately sequenced last.
Architecture Review
Identified unnecessary dependencies and a non-scalable project structure that needed restructuring before new features could be added safely. Cleaning up the foundation early avoided compounding technical debt as real database models were introduced.
