Descripio is a complete Amazon listing optimization product built around a Manifest V3 Chrome extension, a companion web dashboard, and a public marketing site, helping sellers close the gap between what they write in their listings and what customers actually value.
The extension reads a product's reviews, bullet points, and A+ content directly from an in-page side panel, extracts the selling points buyers care about, flags what's missing, and generates improved AI-written copy, while the dashboard and website extend the same experience with listing monitoring, content generation, and self-serve SEO tools.

The Issue At Hand
The most compelling selling points for a product are often buried inside customer reviews rather than written into the listing itself. Reviews contain the exact language buyers use to describe what they love or what's missing, language that rarely makes it into the bullet points or A+ content sellers actually control.
Sellers had no efficient way to surface that language, compare it against their existing listing, and turn it into improved copy, without leaving the Amazon product page or juggling external tools. Doing this manually meant reading through dozens of reviews, cross-referencing them against a listing by hand, and rewriting copy from scratch.
AI-driven review analysis had to extract structured selling points from unstructured Amazon customer reviews before any other feature could work.
Listing gap analysis required comparing review-derived selling points against the current bullet points and A+ content, flagging exactly what was missing.
AI content generation needed to automatically produce improved bullet points and listing copy, removing slow, manual copywriting from the seller's workflow.
The entire experience had to be delivered as an in-page side panel, eliminating context-switching and copy-pasting between the Amazon product page and external tools.
Competitor analysis needed product-name extraction, interpretive coding, and product-opportunity evaluation to be useful beyond a seller's own listing.
Product image evaluation had to analyze listing imagery directly to extract additional optimization signals beyond text.
Multi-market support meant building English and German localization for international sellers from the start, not bolting it on later.
Listing monitoring required continuously comparing the live Amazon storefront against Seller Central and Vendor Central data and alerting on any discrepancy.
The public marketing site had to introduce the tool, its benefits, and standalone tool pages clearly enough for sellers to self-serve without a sales call.

Phase 1 — Discover
Research confirmed that the true product differentiator was extracting customer language directly from reviews rather than analyzing the listing in isolation, an insight that defined the entire processing pipeline and shaped every architectural decision that followed.
Key Activities
Review-First Differentiator
Confirmed that extracting customer language from reviews, not just analyzing the listing, had to be the core of the processing pipeline. This finding reshaped the product around a review-first workflow rather than a simple listing checklist.
Amazon DOM Analysis
Found that reviews, bullet points, and A+ content are addressable through stable DOM markers, but reviews are collapsed by default and must be programmatically expanded before scraping. Getting this expansion step wrong would have silently truncated the review data feeding every downstream analysis.
Page-Type Guarding
Determined the extension had to operate only on genuine product pages, requiring page-type detection and a guard to avoid running on unrelated pages. Without this guard, the panel risked opening on search results or category pages where none of its assumptions about page structure would hold.
Manifest V3 Constraints
Investigation of Manifest V3 revealed persistent background pages were removed and service workers can't run a DOM or iframe, forcing the offscreen-document pattern for Firebase auth and service-worker-routed networking. This constraint shaped the extension's entire architecture well before any UI work began.
